Back At It

Back at it.  I expect I'll get a lot of weaving done while Bill is in Trinidad this week.

Adding the gold.

On the homefront, Bill missed his flight to Trinidad and is now rerouted thru New Jersey.  He'll be getting in a couple hours later.

Lunch break.

I like this cat better.

Robyn's Device ~ Cartoon & Pin Placement

Cartoon with arrangement of motifs.  Placement of pins.

Now warped and ready to weave.

Let the obsessive-compulsive weaving disorder begin.  ;-]

Darker than it looks in person.

Time to break for dinner.

True Color

Finally.  True color.  I remembered if you put a person in the picture, you can balance the color.

Better Lighting

Better lighting, but still not true color.  It's very hard to get blues and greens to both read true at the same time.  This comes pretty close.

I want to add my signature chop, possibly embroidered on the background cloth.  But nothing I have to rush in to.

I can move along not to my tapestry commission for Lee Wygand in the SCA.

Coming Together

Sewing tapestry onto background.  Color wildly off.  Background is actually light blue.  Strange lighting today.

Finally Back at It.

Tacked the tapestry to the stabilizer, cut it down, tucked and glued misc. ends.  Waiting for it to dry.

Next, work on frame.  Cut foam core board to right size, add batting and background material.  Screw in eyelets and attach wire.  Frame.

Then tack tapestry to the front.

Tucking and Tacking

Tucking loose threads and beginning to tack the tapestry down to the stabilizing material.  Also reinforced the focal bead.

Each step at this point is like pulling teeth.  There's a decision point at every step.  No longer Zen.
