SH Xmas Card ~ Castle Tapestry

Ordered the SH xmas cards ~ this year I wove a castle tapestry.

Hope it comes out ok.  This is an experiment.

I called it Winter Wonderland for lack of anything else creative.  But that's the card.  I can rename the tapestry.

Now I'll tack the tapestry down better, secure the backing and get it ready to display at Loscon.

Castle Tapestry for SH Xmas Card

Test of concept.  We'll be taking a better pic for the card.  I like how the cropped pic looks ~ just the "stony" wall.

Wet & Set

Wet & set.  Now I tuck and clip a billion little threads on the back.  Here it is sitting on a rocky display board.  I'll make one specifically for the tapestry.

Fiddly Bits Less Obvious Now.

Fiddly bits.  They're less obvious now.  More colorways in the sky, shading to the trees.

Cloudy moon Mini-Tapestry

Tacked this mini-tap (I'll never finish it as a necklace, get real) to a chunk of rocky display board.

Rock for hanging tapestry needs to be smaller, also board.  I'll  sew it to the board and make it a permanent display.

I can also tie/wire the whole thing to the pegboard holes at Loscon.

Fiddly Bits

Raised the tree to make room for the sheep.  Shadowed the snowman so he'll stand out.  More tucking of threads.

Taking a break now.  Most of the beads are on.  I'll be adding some beads after weaving this time, so I can control placement.

Crossing the streams.  Started working the xmas castle motif as a tapestry, and now I'm liking the cartoon.
