Yay! My 10/2 linen warp came and I warped up the tapestry loom. I added some bits and bobs for the hobbity garden, with more coming. About to start weaving!
So I couldn't sleep last night and I started thinking about my ~6x6 mini-tapestries. I was experimenting with weaving from the back (regular tapestry weaving) instead of my uber-textured weaving from the front. I got plexi looms so I can check on my progress from the back when I remove the cartoon.
They're just the perfect size for ATA's unjuried shows and I'm thinking of entering one of them (if they fit the time period requirements). https://americantapestryalliance.org/exhibitions/unjuried-small-format-tapestry-exhibition/
I missed this year's deadline, but maybe next time.
My favorite mini-tapestry is the paleo horse on the flame rock face. I'm thinking of Paleo Pony: By Firelight. Or some such title. Painted Pony By Firelight?
Also thinking of calling them collectively Textures (especially if I weave them from the front with goo-gaas).
Also wanted to record the idea of printable cloth for tapestry labels. www.amazon.com/Avery-Printable-Fabric-Printers-03384/dp/B0000C0CJZ/ref=sr_1_5?dchild=1&keywords=printable+fabric&qid=1598023776&sr=8-5#
Enlarging the foreground image, reducing the background image. Meld them.
Foreground on the right will be either a large sunflower or a large hollyhock.
Otherwise known as fuzzy feet. ;- ]
Color is off (it came off the printer, which is having issues at the moment). It'll be green/purple/pinky-orange basically. The foam core board is 11"x14" and the tapestry will be roughly 8"x10". The board is large enough to weave the straps along with the tapestry. No idea what dangles there will be yet, but I have no problem adding them on later.
Photographed on the front door with diffused sun and room light.
Needs to be sized for the submission (300ppi, 2100pixels).
